Kancho Taira  and Shihandai Higa conducted a shodan grading test for Tim Scott. Tim's  training preparation in New Zealand prior to leaving for Okinawa was instrumental in his successful grading to shodan.

Catching up with friends and their families, sight seeing and attending the famous Naha festival, featuring Kancho Taira, were just a few of the many highlights experienced by the kiwis.

Shihan Kevin Plaisted,accompanied by his lovely wife Ruth, daughter Isabelle and dojo member Tim Scott travelled to Okinawa in October 2007. Celebrating his eleventh visit to the island of karate, Shihan Kevin had the immense pleasure of introducing his family to the many sights, wonders and hospitality unique to the Ryukyu's.

"Training at Urasoe dojo under the guidance of Kancho Taira 9th dan, Shihandai Higa 8th dan and other senior members of the dojo is always a rewarding experience" says Kevin.
